Step-by-Step Guide: Email Creation Techniques for Engaging Newsletters, Even with Zero Design Experience
Step 1: Accessing the Email Template module
-
1️⃣Navigate to the "Templates" module. Then select "Email”.
Step 2: Selecting a Template
The first step to creating professional emails is choosing an appropriate template. Antsomi CDP 365 offers a rich selection of ready-to-use templates.
1. Creating a New Template
To create a new template, you can choose from the existing "Template Gallery," which is available to all users and provides ready-to-use designs. Find a gallery template that matches your objective and brand image, and start customizing it.
Or start from a completely "Blank Template", by clicking on “New Template” within “My Template”.
2. Using an Existing One
Instead of creating a new template, you can also use an existing template, by duplicating a template from "My Templates" or "Shared With Me". To do this, simply navigate to the desired template and click the "Duplicate" button.
Step 3: Replacing Text and Images
Now, let's customize the selected template with your content.
Editing Text
- ● Directly input your desired text into the text boxes within the email.
- ● Be careful not to change "smart tags" like "Name", as these automatically insert the recipient's name.

- ● You can change the font type, font size, font color, and other styles by selecting the text.

Step 7: (Optional) Inserting UTM Parameters
What is “UTM Parameters”?
UTM parameters are short identifiers appended to the end of a URL to track the detailed source of website traffic. In the context of email delivery, these parameters are applied to the website links (URLs) contained within the email body. By attaching them to the URL, analytics tools such as Google Analytics can accurately identify which marketing activity—be it an ad, social media post, or an email campaign—a visitor originated from. This allows for the precise measurement of each campaign's effectiveness, aiding in the improvement of marketing strategies. UTM is an acronym for "Urchin Tracking Module".
How to Configure UTM Parameters
-
1️⃣
Click on an empty space within the email template where there are no elements.
-
2️⃣
Click "Data Tracking" in the settings panel displayed on the right.
-
3️⃣Select "UTM" and enter your predefined UTM values for each field: "UTM_Source," "UTM_Medium," "UTM_Campaign," "UTM_Term," and "UTM_Content."
Step 8: Previewing on Desktop and Mobile
Once editing is complete, it is crucial to preview on both desktop and mobile to see how your email will look on different devices. This helps prevent unintended layout issues.
Step 9: Saving the Template
After completing your edits, click "Save" to save it as a new template or update an existing custom template.
