Antsomi CDP 365 Manual for Beginners | How to Automate Dynamic Email Recommendations
Published: Feb 20, 2026|14 min read|
Introduction
Are you sending the exact same email content and website banners to all your users?
With Antsomi CDP 365, utilizing browsing history and behavioral data from your website, you can automatically select and deliver the most suitable content for each user, aligned with your specific business goals.
This guide outlines the essential steps for creating emails that leverage this feature to automatically recommend content tailored to each user's unique interests.
Example Case: Weekly Newsletter
In this guide, we will demonstrate using a "Weekly Newsletter" as a practical example. We will configure the settings to automatically display three pieces of content personalized for each subscriber within the "Other popular contents you might like" section of the email.
The Completed Template: Once configured, your template will function as follows:
-
✓
Automatic Recommendations for Each User
The system identifies "the category the user has shown the most interest in" based on their past browsing history and automatically selects and displays three pieces of content from that category.
-
✓
Automatic Content Replacement
The following elements are automatically switched according to the selected content:
- ・ Thumbnail image + destination page URL
- ・ Content title + destination page URL
- ・ Content description
-
✓
Dynamic CTA Text Switching
Depending on the content type (category), the text on the click button (CTA) automatically switches to the most appropriate one—for example, "Read the Full Article" for articles or "Watch the Video" for videos.
Since all of this is automated, once you set up the template, you do not need to manually select content or paste images for every distribution.

Now, let's set up the "Newsletter where articles, images, links, and CTAs automatically switch according to user interests" in 5 steps.
First, instruct Antsomi CDP 365 on "which data" to choose and "based on what criteria."
1-1. Access Content Sources
On the email template editing screen, click outside the template area to open the [Setting] tab, and select the [Content Sources] section within [Basic].
1-2. Select Data Source
Click [+ Add Group] and select a data source in [Select Content source].
In this case, we will select "Article" to recommend content published on the content resource site to users, but you can choose the optimal source according to your purpose, such as "Product" for e-commerce products.
1-3. Apply Algorithm
Click [+ Add Algorithms] in the [Ranking] section, select the algorithm you want to apply from [Select Algorithms], and click [Apply].
In this case, we will use "Same interest" (recommends articles from the category the user is most interested in), but Antsomi CDP 365 offers a wide variety of other algorithms (detailed in Chapter 2).
1-4. Set Fallback
In the [Fallback] section, set options such as "Most seen" (popular content rankings).
What is Fallback?
This refers to the conditions that will be displayed instead when the specified algorithm (in this case, Same interest) cannot find any data to recommend (for example, displaying overall popular articles instead of personal interests for new users who do not yet have browsing history).
Next, we will configure the settings so that the "thumbnail image" of the content selected by the algorithm is automatically inserted. We will also set up links so that clicking on the image will navigate to the correct content page.
2-1. Place Column Block
Click the [Home] icon to open the [Standards] menu. Select the [Column] block and drag and drop it to the desired location in the email body. Once placed, select the 2-block configuration.
2-2. Place Image Block
Return to the [Standards] menu, select the [Image] block, and drag and drop it into the left side of the column frame you just placed.
2-3. Enable Dynamic Image
In the right-side menu's [Image] settings, select the [Dynamic] radio button and click [+ Add dynamic content].
2-4. Configure Dynamic Content
In the displayed dialog, configure the settings as follows and click [Apply].
-
●
Content Source: Article (the group created in Step 1)
-
●
Attribute: Image URL
-
●
Index: 1
2-5. Enable Dynamic Link
Next, configure the settings so that clicking the image navigates to the content page. In the [Link] settings at the bottom of the right-side menu, select [Dynamic] and click [+ Add dynamic content].
2-6. Configure Link Settings
In the dialog, configure the following settings and apply them.
-
●
Content Source: Article (the group created in Step 1)
-
●
Attribute: Page URL
-
●
Index: 1
Create text areas on the right side of the image to display the content title and description, and configure the settings so that the content is automatically replaced.
3-1. Place Text Block
Return to the [Standards] menu, select the [Text] block, and place it in the right frame of the column created in Step 2. Enter placeholder text "Title" here temporarily.
3-2. Duplicate Text Block
Select the text box and click the duplicate icon to create a text box for displaying the description. Enter "Description" as placeholder text here. (Separate the title and description into different blocks.)
3-3. Configure Dynamic Title
Select (highlight) the text "Title" in the upper block, and click the [Smart Tag] icon from the toolbar.
3-4. Set Title Attributes
In the [Add Dynamic Content] dialog, configure the following settings and click Apply.
-
●
Content Source: Article (the group created in Step 1)
-
●
Attribute: Name (content title)
-
●
Index: 1
3-5. Configure Dynamic Description
Similarly, select (highlight) the text "Description" in the lower block, and click the [Smart Tag] icon from the toolbar. In the dialog, configure the following settings and apply them.
-
●
Content Source: Article (the group created in Step 1)
-
●
Attribute: Description
-
●
Index: 1
3-6. Setting up the Title Link (Click to Navigate)
Select (highlight) the "Title" text (with Smart Tag already configured) again and click the [Link] icon from the toolbar.
3-7. Configure Title Link
In the [Insert Link] dialog, configure the following settings and apply them.
-
●
Type: Dynamic
-
●
Content Source: Article (the group created in Step 1)
-
●
Attribute: Page URL
Optimize the CTA (Call to Action) text to "Read..." or "Watch..." depending on the type of content. Identify the content type and display only the appropriate CTA, such as "Read" for articles or "Watch" for videos.
4-1. Add CTA Blocks
First, add individual Text blocks for each anticipated CTA pattern and enter the text for each (place these in the right column, below Description). In this case, create the following four blocks:
-
●
Block 1: "Read the Full Article →"
-
●
Block 2: "Access the Slides →"
-
●
Block 3: "View the Illustrations →"
-
●
Block 4: "Watch the Video →"
4-2. Set Display Condition
Configure the display conditions for each text block you created. First, select the "Read the Full Article" block and click [Display condition] in the right-side menu.
4-3. Add Field for Condition
In the [Add field] dialog, configure the following settings and apply them.
-
●
Content Source: Article (the group created in Step 1)
-
●
Attribute: Main Category
-
●
Index: 1
4-4. Set Condition Logic
Continue with the following settings:
-
●
Operator: is equal
-
●
Value: Articles
This completes the configuration to display the CTA "Read..." when the content category is Articles.
4-5. Configure Other Blocks
Configure the other three blocks in the same way, but change the Value to match each content type (e.g., Slides, Illustrations, Videos). This ensures that only the CTA button matching the automatically selected content type will be displayed.
4-6. Set CTA Links
Set up a Dynamic Link for each CTA, similar to Step 3-6, so that clicking the CTA navigates to the corresponding page.
Finally, duplicate this configured set of blocks so that Content 2 (the second content item) and Content 3 (the third content item) will be displayed.
5-1. Duplicate Row
Select the entire article block (row) you created and click the [Duplicate] icon to add more frames.
5-2. Update Index
For each element in the duplicated second block (image, title Smart Tag, title Link, and all display conditions), change the Index value to "2". Using the [Set auto index] function in the left-side menu is convenient, as it allows you to update all Indexes contained in that row at once.
5-3. Repeat for Content 3
Similarly, create a third frame and set the Index to "3" to complete the Content 3 frame.
Chapter 2: List of Algorithms and Fallbacks Available in Antsomi CDP 365
This is a list of "Algorithms (recommendation logic)" and "Fallback (backup settings)" that can be configured in [Settings] > [Content Sources].
Antsomi CDP 365 comes equipped with over 20 ready-to-use algorithms. Beyond simple "popularity rankings," it enables sophisticated recommendations tailored to users' deep psychology and behavioral patterns.
Note: Available options vary depending on data sources and integration status.
1. Algorithm List
| Category | Algorithm Name | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Behavioral & Interest | Same interest | Products in the same categories as those the user has shown the most interest in. |
| Seen products | Products the user has already browsed. | |
| Carted | Product this user has already placed in the shopping cart (and which are still there). | |
| Bought | Products this user recently bought. | |
| Notify | Products that added to wishlist. | |

| Similar content | Get n products with names related to the content in the article. Sort by titles, keywords, or tags. | |
| Distance | Products that satisfy the conditions of comparison between two attributes in a range of value. | |
| Popularity & Ranking | Product viewed most often | Products most often viewed during the chosen time frame. |
| Product carted most often | Products most often carted during the chosen time frame. | |
| Product bought most often | Products most often bought during the chosen time frame. | |
| Viral products | Products in collectors want to viral. | |
| Get top | Top products which attribute satisfy the setup condition. | |
| Recency | Recency | Products with a recent release or availability date. |
2. Fallback Settings (Fallback Options)
These are backup settings applied when the main algorithm cannot find data to recommend (e.g., new users with no browsing history). This is an important safety net to prevent "display collapse" due to insufficient data.
| Option Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Hidden | Hide the template in case there are no recommendations. |
| None | Shows recommendations that satisfied the algorithms. |
| Most seen | Recommendations items that were most frequently seen. |
| Most cart | Recommendations items that were most frequently added to the cart. |
| Most bought | Recommendations items that were most frequently bought. |
| Removed cart | Recommendations on items that were added to the cart but then removed. This algorithm also took care of the case when customers added the products to the cart again. |
Conclusion: Expanding Applications and Next Steps
While this guide used a Weekly Newsletter for a content media site as an example, the true value of Antsomi's recommendation engine lies in its overwhelming versatility. The mechanism we configured today (algorithm x dynamic template) can be immediately applied to other business types and industries, such as e-commerce sites, to implement strategies that directly drive revenue growth.
E-commerce Use Cases:
Algorithm: Carted (or Removed cart)
Impact: Reminds customers of items left in their cart without completing purchase, encouraging them to follow through.
Algorithm: Frequently bought together
Impact: Uses the logic of "customers who bought this also bought these" to increase average order value (AOV).
Algorithm: Bought (for consumables etc.)
Impact: Based on past purchase history, suggests products the customer is likely to need next at the optimal timing.
Understanding each user's context and delivering the right information at the moment they want it. Maximize engagement and business outcomes with Antsomi CDP 365.
